Indigenous ceramics at the Flinders Day Markets

I shared the stall (thanks to Bev & Don Holcroft and the Coochiemudlo Island Progress Association for the freebie) at the markets today with Vickki King, Indigenous ceramics artist living in Lismore, NSW.

In another part of my life (ie apart from my passion for community websites), I have been a long term volunteer with the Indigenous Community Volunteers (  I am currently business mentoring Vickki under this program and her presence at the markets today is one of the steps we’re taking to eventually develop a marketing plan for her art work.

Vickki displayed her ceramic pea pods, bowls and platters with intricate Indigenous design.  Her work can also be viewed at her website at Keenaya Indigenous Ceramics and Arts (

It was the first time that we’ve had an Indigenous stall at the markets (as far as I know), and it was about time, too.
