About the artist
Jennifer is a Master Printer who taught Print media at QCA Griffith University for over 17 years. She has always had a strong interest in the natural environment, especially the native flora and fauna of South East Queensland. Jennifer often works in layers with printmaking, as well as doing weaving, textile dyeing, mixed media and 3D. She uses natural man-made and found objects collected from walks on the beach, and in the bush. She has been a practicing artist and keen gardener for most of her life, lives on Macleay Island, running multi-discipline workshops from her home studio on Perulpa Island (Mangrove Art & Design).
Artist’s statement
I am a retired lecturer in print media and design. I am a painter, printmaker, designer, textile artist and sometimes work in 3D. I also run workshops in my studio on Macleay Island in printmaking, cyanotype, textile dyeing and printing, as well as weaving. My work is inspired by our island environment, the beautiful birds and wildflowers found on the Southern Moreton Bay Islands.
