  • Yes, all vehicles need to be registered, but if your vehicle is used almost exclusively on the island, you are entitled to a Restricted Area Concession on your registration costs. Coochiemudlo Island is eligible for this because we don’t have a bridge access to the island.

Dogs and cats on the island

  • Yes, well behaved dogs on a lead can travel with their owners on the passenger ferry or as pedestrians on the vehicle barge.

  • No, there isn’t a vetinary clinic nor medical centre on the island. The nearest vets are:

  • Yes, paralysis ticks are a major problem for dogs and cats on the island unless preventative measures are in place. Make sure you have an ample supply of anti-tick treatments for your pets while they are on the island. There isn’t a pet shop nor vet on the island so finding a supply on the island is not guaranteed.
