Coochie Sings – A Choral Workshop with Mundy–Turner OAM
Saturday 9 August · 10am–4:30pm at the Community Hall on Coochiemudlo Island
You don't need to be a singer. You just need to show up.
Join internationally acclaimed artists Cath Mundy OAM and Jay Turner OAM for a day of singing, connection, and that hard-to-describe buzz you only get from making music with a room full of people.
At the last workshop, people who had never sung in front of anyone walked in nervous and left floating. "When I got home, I was on cloud nine," said one attendee. "It just puts you on a high." Another described it as mind-releasing — that rare feeling of getting completely out of your own head. And when the harmonies locked in and the room found its sound together? "It makes you tingly. I know, right?"
Cath and Jay have a rare gift — they build you up, draw out the voice you didn't know you had, and somehow turn a room of strangers into something that sounds genuinely beautiful. First-timers, shower singers, and seasoned voices are all equally welcome.
The day wraps with a pop-up performance at Viva Coochie at 5:30pm — a chance to share what you've made with the whole island. Drinks and tapas will be available.
Early bird tickets $35 until 1 July; or $55 (after 1 July)
