Volunteers are the backbone of any community, definitely Coochiemudlo’s. This article focuses on the island’s volunteer organisations, without forgetting that there are many others who volunteer time to help out the community.

Marg has lived on the island for decades. She’s volunteered many hours over the years organising events on Coochiemudlo Island, including the much lauded Matthew Flinders Bicentennial celebrations on the island in 1999.
