Deirdre Moran
Introducing the art and artists of Coochiemudlo
Since her retirement to Coochiemudlo, Deirdre Moran has been ‘driven’ as an artist — passionately engaged with painting and landscapes.
Rendered with meticulous attention to detail and technique, Deirdre’s landscape works invite us to reconnect our memories and emotional responses to place. Often inspired by island landscapes, seascapes and skies, she is captivated by the ever-changing light and colour that illuminates each scape. Revelling in the immediacy of her dry pastel medium for placing and building layers of clean and vivid colour, Deirdre finds herself increasingly drawn to deep engagement with the abstract play of colour inside each representational image, forming works of great subtlety.
Curlew Gallery and Ross Street Gallery: open 10am – 2pm, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
